Downtown Jersey City, building by building

Every residential building with 15 or more homes between the Turnpike, the Hoboken line and the river. Each one has a page covering what it costs, the flood maps, the school it is zoned to, parking, and the commute.

Ten stories and up counts too. Every figure comes from a public record and links back to it, and each page says which records it has and which it does not. No listing sites, no estimates, nothing for sale.

The outline is the area this site covers, 1.99 square miles. It follows the Hoboken city line, the Hudson, the edge of Liberty State Park and the Turnpike Extension.

All buildings

245 buildings

Each page carries only what we query from a public record and can reproduce: the address, the parcel, both FEMA flood readings, walking and commuting times, the schools the address is zoned to, what is being built nearby and the city's plan area. Home counts appear on 60 of them, where three separate records agree, and years on 35, where two do, and story counts on 67. Ownership and whether a building is rental, condo or co-op are not published yet, and every building page says which of them it is missing.

What changed

Every fact on this site is stored with the date it was first seen and what it changed from, so this is the record changing rather than a news feed.

Everything that has changed.
